Duties Include but are not limited to:
Screens patients, visitors and caregivers at the outside entrances of the Medical Center. Receives visitors and callers, determines the nature of business, and directs the visitor or caller to his/her destination. Assists visitors or patients with escort services, i.e., wheelchair requests and/or escort request to appointments or clinics. Responds to phone and face-to-face inquiries. Calls other services/sections and units throughout the medical center to obtain information for visitor or caller, as appropriate. Answers the telephone and routes calls. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-3 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-2 level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note:

Specialized
Experience:
You must have six (6) months of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-2 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. OR, Education:
Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have one (1) year of education above high school OR, Training:
Completion of an intensive, specialized course of study of less than 1 year may meet in full the experience requirements for GS-3. Courses of this type normally require completion of up to 40 hours per week of instruction rather than the usual 20 hours per week, and are usually of at least 3 months in duration. Such courses may have been obtained through a variety of programs such as those offered by business or technical schools, and through Military training programs. To be creditable, such a course must have been designed specifically as career preparation for the work of the position being filled, and must have provided the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work OR, Combination:
Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. Experience and education will be converted to percentages and then the two percentages will be added. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for the grade level. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements:
The majority of duties will be performed at the outside entrances of the medical center while standing. Incumbent will be required to push a wheelchair, bend or kneel to obtain information or walking to assist patients. Incumbent may also need to assist patients in ambulation, carrying of packages, etc. Incumbent will also sit at the Information Desk as needed. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
