Information Receptionist

Provides a positive, welcoming message and courteous, helpful service to arriving and departing patients, visitors, and Overton Brooks VA Medical Center staff. Works effectively as part of the Leading Forward Team, dedicated to enhancing the Veteran Experience and Patient-Centered Care. Respond to telephone and face-to-face inquires. Provides accurate and timely responses to requests for information and directions. Assist with locating staff, bus information, taxi information, and other general information. Directs Veterans, family members, and other visitors to the appropriate office or service within the facility. When indicated, accompanies the Veteran to the appropriate location to ensure the individual gets to the desired location and is introduced to the appropriate staff in the area that will be providing the service to the Veteran. Provides follow-up to Veterans and visitors leaving the facility by inquiring if their questions and needs have been addressed during their appointment or other business at the facility. If further follow-up is indicated, the incumbent will assist the individual in getting the necessary information or forward the concern to the appropriate VA employee or service to provide the service required to fulfill the individual needs. Respond to questions, provide information (when appropriate to do so), and gives guidance. And, all other duties as assigned. Work Schedule:

General
Experience:
Possess 6 months of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills need to perform the duties of the position to be filled. OR Education:
Possess a successfully completed 1 year of education above high school in any field for which graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED) OR Combination of Education:
Possess equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience to meet total experience requirements. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED) You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
